Measurement

How? How much? How many? These questions that you have something to quantify. The process of obtaining the size of a known quantity measurement. You can measure length, volume or weight, compared with a unit of measure, like one meter or liter or kilograms. The measure is a basis for comparison. Unity is a benchmark against which other things can be assessed. A measurement is performed by comparing a quantity of a standard unit.

The common characteristics such as length, area, volume, weight, and temperature units are measured in comparison with the standard units. In ancient times, people use the length of an object with the length of an arm length of a foot, etc. (more…)

Math- Have Fun!!

Dear Parents, Teachers, and Math Students,

It is amazing to me how important the study of mathematics is today. Math concepts are in the news of economics, sports, politics, medicine, science, weather, banking, and much more. Math helps us understand the world, and is important to a person’s success in today’s technological society.

Consider how often we use math. Math helps us understand the nutritional information on a box of cereal. Math helps us understand stock market indices, interest rates, humidity, or the heat index. Understanding math can help reduce the cost of groceries, decide whether to fly or drive the car to visit grandma, or determine whether an allowance is keeping up with inflation! (more…)
