Math Help

This is my first post on online math tutor blog and I figured I’d share my passion about tutoring with the rest of the folks out there.  One interesting problem that I faced while teaching students math is the ability to explain specific concept in nature that is not quiet practical.  The truth is the only way to understand math on practical level is to jump into the problem and I don’t mean mathematical problem, but rather real world problem  For example, consider giving a business case scenario to the student with request for student to analyze multiple scenarios that can happen while opening this business and presenting possibilities of how the specific business case may be resolved and what would be the most beneficial way to resolve this business case while earning the most money.

Students love money, so the practical approach would most likely be something that they are interested in and something that they are willing to learn.  This is when statistical analysis comes into place, algebraic concepts start flashing and percentage based formulas begin making sense.  So when you teach math, teach math with practical real time examples that make sense.  This approach is extremely practical not just from the perspective of a school teacher, but it’s also practical to use in the position of an online math tutor.  If you want to make your self presentable to your students, differentiate your self in a way that makes other students understand you easier.
